A Surgeon At Work

I finally got to the point in the scenery prep around Crooked Run Trestle that I needed to do the work to create access to the problem tortoise switch machine.  Opening up this area would create quite a bit of debris and that would be almost impossible to get up after the trestle is installed.

So today I cracked open the chest cavity on the layout exposing the problem tortoise switch machine.

Everything when well and so far the patient is surviving.  (Actual work on the tortoise switch machine will wait until Wednesday.)

Work also continued on the trestle with the addition of one extra row of planking on the backside walkways.  An extra row of planking on the front side walkways is also in the plans.  And finally the safety platforms have been rebuilt and are ready to install as soon as the walkways are done.
