In an attempt to determine what was going on in Thorny Point I went under the layout today to check on the power isolator. There were no lights indicating a short and it was a dual unit so I swapped the outputs and the problem moved from Thorny Point to the Hood to Thorny Point section and Thorny Point started working.
I now have a DCC Specialities PSX1 on order from Tony's Train Exchange. This is the second failure of a power isolator out of eight over seven years. Not too good for reliability ratings.
