Back upstairs today to check on the Tortoise repairs using Gorilla glue. The Gorilla glue had a firm hold on the electrical contacts so I put the Tortoise back together and tested it. All is working! It is now ready to assume its duties as a spare.
This picture shows the common failure (at least for me) point of a Tortoise switch machine. The electrical contacts come off the throw bar mechanism. Here they have been replaced using Gorilla glue and are ready to be re-installed.
After working on the Tortoise I did some more work on the Lynch River bed. It is now almost ready for the Envirotex pour. To see the current state of the Lynch River to go www.easton-and-potomac.com.
