The car shop did a complete inspection of the passenger cars concentrating on their trucks. Of the six cars four required lubrication of their journals which seemed to improve their rolling resistance to an acceptable level. But one, the observation car White Hall, required truck replacements. Of course the replacement trucks were not completely compatible with the coupler bolsters so some modifications had to be made to them. But now all of the passenger cars seem to have acceptable rolling resistance. We will be conducting a test, with the assigned passenger engine, on the mainline between Thorny Point and White Hall and back before the next session just to make sure. And modifications will be made until that test is passed. If modifications to the passenger cars will not get a passing grade then a forth and final engine will be acquired for passenger service. And it will be a consolidation.
