An operating session that I was planning to attend today got cancelled which provided me an opportunity to continue working on my pine trees. Yesterday I applied the first coat of Dick's fine pine bark to the armatures. So today I applied the second coat. All of the pine tree armatures are now ready for sisal twine and then painting. Before I can apply more sisal twine I will need to cut another container full and that will take an hour or so.
Along the lines of painting. Friday I received my cheap spray gun. So Now I am ready to try and paint the pine trees complete with sisal twine. The next warm dry day hopefully will be that attempt. If that goes well I should be able to get all 100 of the pine trees to the painted stage and ready for flocking.
Once the flocking happens I will have about 800 trees (conifers and deciduous combined) ready for planting. That planting will commence just west of Brook and continue to Thorny Point. Any remaining tees will complete the planting process at Hood. Then I will proceed around the upper level from Hopkins Spring water tower towards Lacey Springs.
