Brooke and Flat Top Progress

Since the last posting this is what has taken place.

First I took Saturday and ran on Dick Munnikhuysen's Western Maryland layout.  This is an intensive coal hauling layout that Dick would like to see around 150 coal cars a day come down the mountain.  (Its a good thing Dick's desires will not hurt him.)  If you haven't run on Dick's layout and would like to you can contact him at munnikhuysenp@aol.com.  Since he needs a large crew (12 or so) he is usually looking for attendees.

Late Saturday and Sunday I worked on the mockup for the Green County Co-op.  This is the first step to a cardboard mockup which I will use to guide construction of the actual building.

This site will consist of four buildings (all connected) and surrounded on the track sides by loading docks.  The long loading dock in front of the forward track will be the main loading and unload point for the vehicles and the far right end of it will be a team track.  The main entrance to the building is at the lower left of this picture.  The buildings will go across the entire back of this mockup and down between the "V" tracks.  This should be an interesting building to construct.  With a little luck I will have the cardboard mockup in place for the next session.

I wrapped up the day by mixing up some basic earth scenery paint (1pt paint to 1pt wet water) and painted the expanded parking lot at the Easton Transfer Building.  After that dried I added some ruts and the gravel.

Tomorrow I will vacuum the gravel and do some more rut making and then paint and weather the area.  By Tuesday the building should be back in place with the stake truck at the loading dock.

And since the new DCC Specialties PSX1 arrived Saturday I may be able to get it installed to replace the TTX PS Two that failed at the last session.
