Easton Steamship Company management today announced it will be making improvements to the Easton Steamship Company pier at Thorny Point and during these improvements no freight or passenger service will be provided. These improvements are expected to start in late May to early June and last one to two months.
E&P management in a coordinated announcement notified its customers that no freight would be accepted bound for the Easton Steamship Company at Thorny Point during this period. Customers will either have to find alternate shipping methods or hold their shipments until service resumes. E&P management also announced they will continue to provide passenger service to the Thorny Point station but not to the Easton Steamship Company during this period.
On a related note E&P management took delivery of the piling drilling and cutting jig (pictured below) and has perform a QA check which it passed with flying colors!
E&P management has also placed an order for 115 pilings of which 70 have already been cut. (See picture below.)
And E&P management is in the process of procuring the materials needed to construction a new bulkhead at Thorny Point. The start of the installation of this bulkhead will mark the start of service interruption.
