The day started out working on getting a printer setup to print the Form 19 train orders for the next OPS session.
Ever since I had to replace my main computer my very old HP PSC-2210 all-in-one ink jet printer would no longer work correctly. Seems it was just too old for HP to bother with developing new drivers for windows 7.
So I decided to move it to the workshop and hook it up to Marlene's old laptop running windows XP. Everything went well except the color ink cartridge was low and needed replacing. So today I replaced the color ink cartridge with one of two I had and then printed a set of MT BOLs I needed to complete the staging for the next OPS session.
But that was it. The printer seemed to decided it was having none of this new location or function. The printer would now only give a " remove and check ink cartridge" error message. I thought it was the color cartridge I had just installed but it turns out it was the black ink cartridge that was causing the problem. Or so the printer thought. So I replaced the black ink cartridge with the last spare I had. No difference.
I grabbed Marlene's laser printer and hooked it up. I got the form 19s to print but I had problems with the alignment, not to mention the printer likes to grab several blank pages at a time. About an hour later and I think I have the situation under control. I guess Dick Munnikhuysen will let me know if I don't since he will be the first to deal with this new process and technology.
It looks like the old HO PSC-2210 is headed for the trash which is OK since the fax stopped working about a year ago.
I then moved on to something less stressful and more fun, scenery.
I finished placing the vegetation around the Swift Run area. And added some more vegetation to the Furnace area. Tomorrow I hope to add some more ballast to both areas to fill in between the track and vegetation.
I believe I am done with the vegetation for the Swift Run area which can been seen on www.easton-and-potomac.com.
