In the picture below you can see all of the components associated with installing a cam to control the chuff rate on a steam loco. The Brown wire running to the plug on the cam pad comes from the decoder in the tender. (I installed the plug to make it easier to remove the tender and the bottom plate to service the engine.) The wiper is resting against the cam which can just be seen on the inside of the bottom left driver. Now I am waiting for the wire glue to provide a electrical connection to the driver. The wiper on the driver provides electrical connection for one cam position so I was able to verify it is working. Once the wire glue is applied an electrical connection to be available for all of the cam positions.
