Back to scenery

Today it was back to work on scenery. My goal this week is to have the top of the helix finished to the basic earth stage. This will mean all of the rock castings are in place, all of the Gypsolite has been applied and the basic earth color has been applied. I will then be able to move on to the area from Swift Run to Stanley and from Swift Run to the Hopkins Spring's water tower. The year end goal is to have these upper areas also finished to the basic earth stage, or further.

After installing the rock castings on the lift out patch (which is needed to provide room to lift off the helix hatch) and applying the Gypsolite (see in the picture below) I moved back to working on the Hood station. I have decided to add a cupola to the switch tower and two chimneys to the station. A picture of the current state of the station can been seen on http://www.easton-and-potomac.com/.The rock castings are to the left of the spray bottle. The wet area to the right is where I got rid of the excess Gypsolite I had mixed for the rock castings.
