Today was primarily a maintenance day on the layout. I fixed the wheel alignment on a truck, re-glued parts on a wood road bridge and tackled the track alignment issue in Furnace.
I had thought the track alignment issue was a horizontal alignment issue but it turned out to be a radius issue. So I took up the ballast and moved the track over to improve (make larger) the radius going from the abandoned siding to the turnout.
Now engine #42 can switch the abandoned siding in Furnace without going on the ground.
Tomorrow I will clean up the new ballast, apply some dust and then clean the rails and everything should be ready to go. Tomorrow I will also clean up the Hood Brother Packing area (I applied some Zip texturing on the stock car siding today) and clean the tracks. Then it is on to the layout room which has become a disaster area during all of this scenery construction and track maintenance.
