With some time to kill before the next OPS session I decided to proceed with the ground cover around the Lacey Springs saw mill area. This area is now complete. I need to add some minor details to the actual saw mill but these will have to wait until I can get some dry sticks to cut up.
To see the finished Lacey Springs saw mill area go to www.easton-and-potomac.com.
After finishing the ground cover around the saw mill I ran a loco into the saw mill to test the electrical and of course there were several issues. In the process of rectifying these I managed to break loose one of the closure rails on the west end siding switch in Lacey Springs. (This is the switch that always fails with the first loco of the session and then operates fine the rest of the session.) I managed to get that soldered back together and to get everything working. At least until the session starts.
There was also a rumor that track crews were seen working on the approach to the 104 overpass bridge. (If you don't know where the 104 overpass bridge is then go to www.easton-and-potomac.com and starting at White Hall use the arrows to walk around the mainline and you should find it.)
I don't have high expectations for any of these track maintenance tasks actually making a difference at the next OPS session. But that's the way that goes.
