Saw Mill

Yesterday I cut and stained the material needed to build the saw mill building floor.

Today I started on the floor construction.  However I under estimated the number of 16 footers I would need by quite a few (50).  So I could not complete the floor.  I cut another 50 16 footers and stained them.

Current state of the saw mill floor.

To keep progress moving I decided to start on the tie stacks.  First I thought I would build the stack (actually a pile) for BPB Creosote.  But I then decided it would be easier to build this pile in place.  So this will have to wait until the scenery gets to Flat Top.

I then moved on to the raw tie stacks that will be at the saw mill.  The picture below show the progress on the first stack which now contains 140 ties.  I will probably add a few more levels before moving on to the next stack.

The first raw tie stack.

As a side note I had problems getting the super glue to hold the pieces in place.  But Elmer's while glue worked just fine.  Go figure.
