Price Increase

I placed an order for two more boxes of Scenic Express' Super Value Case of Super Trees.  When they arrived they were much smaller that previous.  I thought (since I had ordered it through a discounter) maybe I didn't order what I thought I was ordering.  However a quick check disproved this.

Looking at the Scenic Express website I noticed that the Super Value Case had gone from 300-350 trees to 200-250 trees, a 29% reduction.  Added to that the price had gone from 119.95 to 129.95, an 8% increase.

At full retail this took my cost per tree trunk from 34 cents to 54 cents or an increase of 52%.

At discounted prices (I am paying 109 for both case sizes) my cost per tree trunk has gone from 31 cents to 44 cents, an increase of 44%.

I had hoped that I would only need two more Super Value Cases.  But given the new, reduced, case size I may need a third.  However I will wait until I have these two new cases planted before ordering any more.  Hopefully I can still get away with just the two cases.
