The last few days (and some before we left) have been spent on a Mack truck assembly line. The assembly line currently has five trucks under construction; a tank, a dump, two high lifts and a stake. When done there will be six Mack trucks on the layout with the sixth being the already completed stake truck. The tank is going to Easton Oil Company, the dump and two high lifts are going to HS Mining Company and the stake is for general scenery. To see the current state of the Mack trucks go to www.easton-and-potomac.com. In addition to these five trucks I am also working on six baggage wagons for the passenger stations. When these are completed there will be a total of twelve baggage wagons for the ten passenger stations, which might not be enough. We will see. But I suspect I will need at least six more.
And just before knocking off for the day I added some black paint to the area around the Dry Fork trestle. During our trip to Florida I noticed quite a few swamp areas with almost black standing water and dead trees. And that is what this area will become. (I might have to rename the trestle.) Next step will be to prep some dead trees and plant them. This will require drilling into the plywood base which will not be fun. Then some touch up painting and the addition of static grass before the application of the Envirotex. Stay tuned.
