After Session Maintenance

All of the Bad Order cars and engines have been repaired.  The cars have been returned to service.  Engine #30 is still in the paint shop getting one more coat of engine black on its new steps.  #30 should be returned to service tomorrow.

#30 lost its cow catcher and gained two steps.  The process for doing this was to cut the cow catcher off the engine.  Smooth out the front beam.  Remove the coupler and replace it with a standard length #5 which required moving the coupler box and using an over shank coupler.  I then had to make the steps from styrene.  (Each step contains seven pieces.)  They are not anywhere near as good as what comes with today's engines but they should do.  The engine also had one missing step between the front platform and the walkways.  So I removed the other and cannibalized two ladders from an Athearn light Mikado.

#30 should not have any more clearance issues and is ready for Glenn and the Pig Train at the next session!
