#21 Released To Mainline Service

After correcting the pilot truck derailing issue, extensive tractive effort testing was performed between White Hall and Thorny Point.  The results of these test were that #21, with an experienced engineer and fireman, would be able to handle any mainline passenger service it would be assigned.  There are several areas where #21 will most likely have traction issues but again an experience engineer and fireman should be able to over come them.  So based on these results the White Hall roundhouse foreman released #21 to mainline service.  It was then run as a light engine move from White Hall to Thorny Point where it replaced #43 who was pressed into service when #34 was taken out of service.  #43 was run as a light engine moved back to White Hall where it will be needed to take out the next #110.

A picture of #21 sitting at the engine service facility in Thorny Point is on www.easton-and-potomac.com.
