After Session Maintenance

During the 110th session engine #33 (the old Thorny Point switcher that was reassigned to White Hall) had a problem going straight through the one turnout it would be using the most.  (Of course.)  An after session inspection revealed the switch points were not closing tight enough and also need some alignment in the vertical.

So today it was under the layout to replace the current .025" throw bar with a .038" throw bar.

Here the work area is prepared for going under the layout.

The switch machine needing the heavier throw bar is the one of the right.  That would be the one now missing its throw bar and retaining screw.  It is also the one directly in front of the support that is just in the picture on the right which provided more than enough aggravation while trying to get access.  Also when I took the screw out I just let it fall to the floor thinking it was large enough to find.  Wrong!  If anyone finds this screw please let me know because it obviously is no longer in the train room or my house.

The important part of this picture is the engine light.  It is indicating that we still have power even after #33 has run onto its problem switch.  Problem fixed at least until everyone shows up for the next session.
