Thorny Point Pier Progress

My focus today was getting the pilings set in the bottom of the Potomac River at Thorny Point.  While waiting for some of the pilings to setup I cleaned up the layout room and worked on another cardboard mockup.

There are 115 pilings in the new pier and I was able to get 67 of them set or 58%.  If all goes well tomorrow I should be able to finish this phase.  The picture below shows the progress today on the Thorny Point pier.

The pilings with the white tops are too tall (the pile driver could not get them set in the bottom deep enough) and need to be cut down.  So far only two pilings need adjusting.

The cardboard mockup I did was of HS Mining Company in Hopkins Spring.  To see what this looks like go to www.easton-and-potomac.com.
