Another Arbor Day

Today I got back to planting trees.

I had hoped to start this process over the weekend but several things caused delays.

First I could not find my awl. (This is the tool I use to punch holes for the tree trunks.) A trip to Lowe's was not fruitful. And the trip to Home Depot was less than ideal even thought it resulted in an awl. So once I got back home I decided to do some clean up and eventually found my awl rolled up in the drop cloth.

Next I decided I needed to get the road around the top of the helix in shape before placing trees alongside. That took about four days of trial and error. Mostly error.

This morning I was able to get the static grass down and this afternoon I was able to start planing more trees.

I am not liking how fast the supply of trees is being depleted! I have gone through about half of my supply and I am not even 25% the way around the helix!

Tomorrow I hope to finish planting my inventory of trees and place vegetation around the road as far as the trees go.
