It was bound to happen sooner or later; removing installed scenery.
Yesterday I installed a lot of vegetation around the Stanley turntable, Stanley team track and Furnace abandoned siding.
After looking at the pictures I put on the blog posting I decided I didn't like the look of the vegetation in Furnace. I felt it was too consistent with what I had done in Stanley. So I got out a weed whacker (putty knife) and removed most of the vegetation between the mainline and the abandoned siding in Stanley.
Even later last night I got to thinking about access to the turntable and realized I had not allowed for a path for the employees to get to the turntable without walking on the tracks. So this morning I got out the weed whacker (putty knife) again and removed enough vegetation to allow for a path.
I then added some ground goop to the Stanley area which I ran out of just before being able to finish.
The picture below shows the newly create path (just below the track and above the lower bushes) and the ground goop applied in Stanley.

Weed Whacker
After getting this done I move to Furnace and applied a generous coating of static grass. I think the result is better than the previous attempt with just bushes between the tracks. A picture of Furnace as it now exists is on www.easton-and-potomac.com.
