E&P announced late Friday that it would be terminating trains #300/#301 (Logger) and #100/#101 (Packer) effective January 1st with the implementation of timetable #16.
These two customer specific trains have been on a E&P timetable since the opening of White Hall yard. The service provided by train #300/#301 will be provided by the Broadway Turn. The service provided by #100/#101 will be provided by a new extra the Hood Turn which will also pickup the service to Flat Top and Hood currently provided by the Broadway Turn. E&P management expect these changes to alleviate the traffic issues in the Flat Top and Hood areas caused by the stops made by the Broadway Turn.
These changes will also have impact on future FQO qualifications. Current FQO qualifications will be grandfathered. Engineers with combined Broadway Turn and #100/#101 train experience will be credited with Hood Turn experience. However, engineers with only #300/#301 experience will not be able to carry that experience over to the Broadway Turn.
The final runs of #300/#301 and #100/#101 will be during the December 19th OPS session.
